26th November 2006 – BWAG Presented with Volunteering Award

BWAG were one of over 650 nominations from across the county for the KCC ‘Awards for Volunteering Excellence’. We were nominated for the award by Bredhurst Parish Council chairman and Deputy Lieutenant of Kent, Suresh Khanna. There were 24 ‘Winners’ and 23 ‘Highly Commended’ (47 in total) and BWAG were one of three winners in the environmental category. Several of the BWAG committee members attended a splendid presentation ceremony on Sunday 26 November to receive the award.

This is a real honour for our group, especially when you consider the relatively short time we have been going – many of the other winners had been working with their projects for many decades.
