It was lovely weather for our monthly task day with about 25 people turning up to help. Jobs varied from sorting and stacking logs to keeping watch over the jacket potatoes for lunch. 26th & 27th April 2014 – Bluebell & Cream Tea Weekend

The Sun was shining for the walk on Saturday, although the rain arrived by the end of the afternoon on Sunday. Guests enjoyed guided walks through the woods and cream teas, and over the two days we raised £820 and had 8 new members join! Thank you to all the guests who supported the event and to all the helpers.

May 2014 – Peg’s story

4 May – Came across a young Tawny Owl today – on the woodland floor and hardly breathing. Took him to a falconry expert in the village who found a mouse or rat claw caught in his wing. Thanks to everyone who came along to our task day today. Lots of vegetation was cut back making access a lot easier for all.

15th June 2014 – Dormouse Survey

The monthly dormouse survey was carried out today. 5 dormice, 3 yellow necked mice and a marsh tit were recorded. Thanks to Dan Bennett who is licensed to handle dormice and has been recording them at Bredhurst for a number of years.

15th June 2014 – The 139 Club on their Monthly Visit to the Wood

Lovely morning for young woodlanders.... Some  pictures of our 'Explorers' this morning building fences, learning about shelters and enjoying hot chocolate and biscuits in the woods. This group is held on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Everyone is welcome to come along.

The aviary for Peg has now been built, with thanks to everyone who has donated money, time and expertise.
