Deana Foulds and Pam Newman, the current Vice-Chairman, both retired as trustees and did not seek re-election. As two of the original six residents who formed BWAG in 2005, their help, knowledge of environmental issues and support over the years has been invaluable. They will both be greatly missed. Vanessa Jones was re-elected as Chairman and Jim Chalmers as Vice-Chairman. There were no nominations during the meeting for the two vacant posts. However, these posts were subsequently filled by co-option by Sue Saunders and Jonothan Edwardes.
The formal section of the meeting was followed by two guest speakers who both gave excellant presentations. Dr Debbie Bartlett, University of Greenwich, who spoke on Coppice Woodlands – Past & Present, and Andrew Wilkinson, Hadlow College, whose talk was entitled Wood That You Could – The Continuing Development of Bredhurst Woods.
